100 POSTS!!!!

I was thinking about…100 POSTS!!!

By Andy Lee

Wow y’all, I can hardly believe this right here is my 100th blog post! When I first started this journey of sharing lesser-known historical tales, I never imagined I’d make it to 100 posts. Reaching this milestone is all thanks to wonderful folks like you reading, commenting on, liking, and sharing my posts. I’m just so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement along the way.

I’ve learned so incredibly much digging into forgotten slices of the past to bring y’all hidden gems of American history over these 100 posts. And getting to share my discoveries has been nothing short of rewarding. The way readers like you have shown interest and enthusiasm for these stories and characters has blown me away time and again.

When I started this blog, I simply wanted a place to indulge my passion for history and highlight some of the fascinating facts, figures, and footnotes that had intrigued me over the years. I never expected much response since these weren’t famous historical events I was covering. But the way y’all have embraced these posts and shared your own thoughts and knowledge in comments has lit a fire under me! All the thoughtful feedback, shares, and messages you’ve sent my way constantly inspire me to keep on researching overlooked moments and shining a light on unsung names.

Over these past 100 posts, I’ve grown exponentially not only as a writer but also as a history buff. Getting to dig deeper into familiar events to find new angles and elevate forgotten tales has given me a much richer appreciation for the past. America has such a complex history full of humanity. Getting to sift through it on this blog and highlight both the great strides and grave mistakes we need to learn from has forever changed me. My eyes have been opened wider to the inspiring and troubling parts of our shared legacy.

Y’all’s constant encouragement has made this entire journey so special for me. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve been ready to hang it up after a post, doubting my writing was connecting or that these stories were interesting enough to share. But just when I needed it most, an insightful comment or message would arrive saying how a particular forgotten tale had sent someone down an intriguing research rabbit hole, or how a certain profile made them reconsider an entire period of history. Those heartwarming responses are what keep my passion aflame! Knowing this hobby of mine has inspired folks to explore history and their own curiosities means the absolute world to me. It makes all the late nights spent researching worthwhile.

I know without a doubt I couldn’t have made it to 100 posts without supporters like you. Whether you’ve been reading my posts since the very beginning, when my writing was beyond clumsy, or just discovered my page recently, I am honored to have you along. Every single like, share, and especially thoughtful comments have lifted me up on days when I questioned if these stories and moments were worth telling. But the overwhelming encouragement has shown me that even forgotten history matters and deserves its time in the sun. And learning our past together creates bonds in the present that help lead to a brighter future.

I sincerely hope each and every one of you has enjoyed reading my posts even half as much as I’ve relished researching and sharing them! That fact that you’ve stuck with me and my hobby through 100 posts means more than I could ever fully express. As long as you amazing folks keep showing interest and passion for the hidden histories that fascinate me, I promise to keep on digging them up and bringing you the very best stories of people, places, and moments long overdue for time in the spotlight.

Here’s to 100 more thoughtful, surprising, enlightening glimpses into the great American story! Y’all’s constant support has given me the confidence to keep chasing those threads of history that most intrigue me, even if they don’t seem conventionally important. Because if I can inspire just one curious soul to delve down a historical rabbit hole that interests them or get one student more excited about the twists and turns of our nation’s complicated legacy, then every late night spent researching will be time well spent.

From the very bottom of my heart, thank you for making this hobby into so much more.
